We took over the building in January 2022, and it was in need of a lot of love and attention. We rolled up our sleeves and cleared, cleaned and renovated the building ready to open in April 2023 with a programme of free activities for young people and families, alongside festivals, exhibitions and more.

It's been an unbelievable turnaround and we can already see the massive impact Kingswood Arts is having through supporting hundreds of local families and breathing life back into a disused heritage building.

We are currently fundraising to finish off a major project here at Kingswood Arts, our basement youth club and studio and we need your help to continue this work!

Opening up this space will have a huge impact on this local area, giving teenagers a much needed dedicated space, and vastly increasing the size and quality of the music sessions we can deliver. This is exactly what our community has asked us to do, and we are determined to deliver it!

We have already completed the demolition of some of the restrictive and hazardous low ceilings and brick walls, to expose the beautiful late Victorian glazed tiles and arched ceiling in what was once probably the primary kitchen for Kingswood House. Our dedication to ensuring the space is accessible to all means we've also installed a wheelchair lift, which will provide access between the ground floor and basement. To complete the project and to bring back into use an amazing space that has been underutilized for 70 years, we need your help!

To take this project onto the next stage we need as much help as we can get. We are delighted to invite you to our Kingswood Arts Fundraising Gala, taking place Friday 21st March, 7pm.

We will be rolling out the red carpet and welcoming you to our beautiful space, so make sure you come dressed to impress or in whatever makes you feel your best! There will be a delicious 3-course meal and a welcome drink included in the price. There will also be a raffle, an auction with some incredible prizes, and entertainment throughout the night!

FREE History Tours of Kingswood House on Sunday 23rd March

Tours will depart at 11am and 1pm. Please book your slot to confirm your place. * You can get 1 ticket and bring along a group, no need to get multiple tickets for each group member.

The ground floor is wheelchair accessible but the tour does contain a section on the first floor which sadly at this point is not wheelchair accessible

There is limited parking on site and spaces cannot be guaranteed. On nearest train station - Sydenham Hill - is very close by (only around 4 mins walk)
